These prints were created from the concept of adhesive glue and weaves, and it is dedicated to my mother. When I was young my mum used to take me to the salon to get my hair done every 3 weeks and it has been a habit for me to get my hair done. This is a way of thanking my mum for instilling grooming, as it help me to connect to my culture as an African.

 For the wall project, I was put in a group of four organised by choosing numbers from a bowl of number 20. My group mates were Rica, David and Oana. A lecture was given of the different themes to choose from, as the subject matter of the wall. The common interest was on Donald Trump, and  decided to create sketches communicating the political issues surrounding him. Rica chose to do a sketch of  King Jong Un with his middle finger up to Trump, as a mockery of their unbalanced relationship. David made a sketch of the Mexican president destroying the American flag, as  way of objecting the plans to build wall around Mexico. Oana did sketches of Donald Trumps being a joker, of his extreme political ideas. My idea was the manipulation of the good relationship between Russia and America, of secretly planning wars against each other with missiles. Pablo Picasso

Pablo Picasso is a Spanish painter, sculptor and printmaker, who was born in Malaga, Spain on the 25 th  of October 1881, and unfortunately died in April 8th 1973. He collaborated with Georges Braque, to establish the art movement of cubism, which began in 1907, after the construction of the following artwork of, “Les Demoiselles d ’Avignon” which was initially produced to promote the cubist movement. This image is a demonstration of the artwork of, “Les Demoiselles d’ Avignon” which is translated as “The Young Ladies of Avignon”. This particular oil canvas painting consists of five naked women, posing provocatively in a glass front shop displace, advertising their bodies to the general public, in the streets of Barcelona. The way in which I was able to identify, that the women were posing in front of a glass panel was that, in Amsterdam there’s a place called a red light district, were you would discover a huge prostitutes posing in front of a glass panel, attracting visitors, as well

The symbolism of traditions in Ghana

Traditional cultures are a combination of past and present practices of a certain group of people, who adopts beliefs into everyday life. This has connection with our ancestors and is associated with tribes in African countries, to maintain the same values of religious practices and ritual for thousands of years. Traditional practices have conflicts with modern practices, as something deemed acceptable to traditionalist are frown upon by modern people. As a result, there are constant battles between the older and younger generation. Traditional people are thought to have narrow mind set to modern people and find it difficult to adjust to the modern world and are often challenged to think otherwise. Traditional practices are similar to traditional dresses that varies from countries to tribes. In this case the traditional dress of Ghana is Kente cloth, which some are handwoven or printed.
