The Wall Project

For the wall project, I was put in a group of four organised by choosing numbers from a bowl of number 20. My group mates were Rica, David and Oana. A lecture was given of the different themes to choose from, as the subject matter of the wall. The common interest was on Donald Trump, and  decided to create sketches communicating the political issues surrounding him.

Rica chose to do a sketch of  King Jong Un with his middle finger up to Trump, as a mockery of their unbalanced relationship. David made a sketch of the Mexican president destroying the American flag, as  way of objecting the plans to build wall around Mexico. Oana did sketches of Donald Trumps being a joker, of his extreme political ideas. My idea was the manipulation of the good relationship between Russia and America, of secretly planning wars against each other with missiles.

All of these aspects were considered, and each of us drew our section on the wall. The ideas were drawn on a large scale with pencil, and black charcoal to high light features. The following paint colours of red, blue, white, brown, pink, green and yellow were Incorporated, to identify  the different states of the countries.

Paint brushes were used to apply acrylic paints on the wall, to bring imagery to life making a bold statement without having to tell people. The composition of the world leaders and the weapons were really articulate, of having Trump as the centre of attention with issues.

The interesting aspect of brining the wall to life would be the incorporation of fake diamonds around Trump, with gold leaves to convey the riches and power that America has over the rest of the countries.

Although, each of us did individual sections,  the design of the wall came together of painting the background red. The red symbolises the wars going on around Trump.

I really enjoyed working in group because, we all listened to each other and made sure that all our sections were done within the time frame.

Finally, we were criticised by the presentation made to classmates, to convey our ideas about the wall. It was refreshing to hear what other people have to say, and the main criticism was to change the font  of the quotations of " lets make America trampish again".
